CO Update

I spent my first week in Boulder and started work this week. Training is going well and my team is easy to work with. The atmosphere at work is positive and welcoming. The headquarters are located in a beautiful spot with a view that distracts me quite honestly. Such is life on the front range.

Dan Otis has graciously provided a temporary home for me. It has been a pleasure to get to know him this week. The next two weeks I will unfortunately be away at work in CO while Jan and the kids prepare for the move date of March 11th. In the meantime, consider this from Psalm 24:3-4 "Who may ascend the hill of the LORD ? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart..." Isn't it amazing how Jesus alone has provided the way for us to be considered clean and pure? By his grace we are forgiven and set free from a life of sin and bondage. Live in freedom today!

Emmaus Gathering

Gathering in North Platte at the Cheeks on Thursday. Not pictured (joined us via teleconference call) are Eric Heffley & Josh & Julie Luse. We had a great discussion on Acts 2:37-47, time in prayer and fellowship. We didn't break bread, but we did enjoy warm beverages...cause it's just cold out there!

His Place

To our church family at His Place...we love you! Thank you for being an amazing blessing Wednesday at my last service with you. It was a privilege to share what God has been doing in our lives, and I trust he used that to encourage you in your walk. I certainly have been praying he would. Jan and I cannot describe adequately how thankful we are to have had such a wonderful family around us at His Place. It is truly HIS place, and we have seen the Lord at work in that ministry in countless ways. We knew from our first visit in 1999 that we could be ourselves and be welcomed just as we were. Our prayers will continue with you and we look forward to hearing what God does in the coming months and years. His very best be upon you in every way...Peter, Jan, Jonatha, Aidan

Snow...Man!

Winter finally rose from her nap briefly this past week. Didn't last long...it melted within 12 hours. Kids sure took advantage, though.

Our Little Valentines

Aidan & Jonatha sporting new V-Day sweaters knit by Nanny. Our kids have an abundance of clothes, gloves, hats, sweaters and scarfs knit by my mom. She sure does a good job and we truly have some nice heirlooms to treasure for a long time.

Jonatha & I are going out on a Daddy-Daughter date today. I think she should pay. Raid the piggy bank!

Thoughts from the Word

Ephesians 1:7-8...In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. I am particularly moved every time I read Ephesians chapter 1. I can't number the times I have read this passage and walked away with something new to consider. Today, I was focused on the word "lavished." The word means to bestow with abundance or to shower. Think about taking a shower and how you are completely washed with water (if you have a good shower head, that is). God literally showers us with his grace, and not just his grace alone. He showers us with the riches of his grace. I take this as the very best aspects of his grace. Today, don't just walk through your routine without considering that God is showering you with the very best of his grace and wants to use you for his glory.

His Place

I play guitar tonight for the last time with my friends on the worship team at His Place. I have been with the group for just shy of 7 years. I think back on all the memories of One Way Street, the first time I practiced and Dan wondered who this punk kid was joining the group, all the concerts and worship events, summer festivals at Valentine, True Love Waits rallies, Dave's vocal drum machine, even the arguments! People I have had the privilege of playing with include Job Vigil, Dan Nickel, Dave Wert, Greg & Lynita Hood, Kelley Davis, Brett Terry, Lissa Zuniga, Laura Terry, Danni Franzen, Lina Sutton. When music is set for the purpose of worship to God, you see why God created music in us. Wes King said once that the greatest musical instrument is the human voice. Think about it...God has given us the ability to worship him through our voice, not only in song, but in testimony. I pray today my life will be a song of praise, and that I will worship him in every moment.

Housing Update

We are looking to drive to Denver again this week to take care of some paperwork for the new job and make a visit to the townhome community we plan to live in. The location of our future home is in Superior (just next to Louisville). The community is filled with 1200+ apartments and townhomes. It has its own lake/beach, community center, indoor basketball and weight facilities, tennis courts, racquetball courts, and even a small movie theatre. All of these are free of charge to use for residents, making it a great way to connect with our neighbors. We plan to do a 12 month lease and go from there. We have been praying for wisdom on where to live and believe this will allow us the best way possible for now to connect with those around us and provide a safe, enjoyable place for our children. Check it out on the link provided.

Answered Prayer & Praise!

On Tuesday Jan and I were discussing the unsettled feeling we had about continuing a job dependent on sales. We both felt the work I am in is as good a fit as we could ask for, but that being dependent on commissions to feed my family was very stressful.

Today I received a call to continue doing what I love doing, but work in a support position on a guaranteed salary. We have been asking God to provide work that will support the move if he so desired us to move. That prayer has been answered. I am excited and eager to get back to work, which will begin February 21st. I also have the privilege of working Monday-Thursday, leaving me with more time to spend with Emmaus Road and especially my family. I can't wait to see what else God has in store for the people of Boulder and surrounding communities...Praise Him!
