House News

This week we put our house up for sale. I mentioned before I know my home is not NP, but I must admit it is difficult to say goodbye to what we have considered our home for the past year and a half. We certainly planned to stay in this house for many, many years. We'll look back and see we were only holding on to a worldly possession. Our prayer is for God to bring a believer in to buy the house and continue the ministry we had on our block. Our neighbors are special people and kind. We have been blessed to live on Church Street.

A City in Need

My morning drive to pray with Jeff & Brandon at a local coffee shop. The Lord has been speaking to me about our home. Although I've known it for years, the believer's home is not of this earth. I've had to learn that lesson all over again. The Tighe's are not at home in North Platte. Nor will we be home in Boulder (or anywhere else in the future). Our home is in heaven with our Savior. We are simply strangers in this world with a mission to share God's love with everyone we encounter. Boulder needs to hear the Gospel. They need to see it lived out in us. Hebrews 11:12-14

Tighe Crew

My crew on our drive to Eldora. I took this in front of a waterfall spot. Beautiful. The kids fell asleep during a drive from Longmont to Boulder and awoke to passing rock walls and amazing scenery. They weren't too sure what was up when they woke up.

Jan, Jonatha and Aidan have been amazing in all of this discussion of moving. I am blessed beyond words to have all three in my life.

View from Eldora Mtn.

We took this photo as we drove up to Eldora Mountain during our visit to Nederland. This view is looking down on Nederland. If you follow the line of the shot, you'll see the beginning of the flatter eastern Colorado plains. The drive from Boulder to Eldora was breathtaking to say the least. Steep boulder faces against the road with a hard running creek, waterfall, jagged boulder crags, tons of trees and more.

Boulder Update

Jan and I traveled to the metro area Tuesday-Wednesday (1/24-25) so I could complete 5 interviews. All went well and I was challenged by some of the questions and encouraged by the opportunities. The Lord seemed to indicate that one of those opportunities was especially significant, which led me to accept their request for another meeting Friday 1/27. We also drove around Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, Lousiville and Broomfield. We continue to pray for the Lord to speak to us and he certainly did on this trip.

Friday the kids will join us and we will take a even closer look at communities, libraries, rec centers, etc so they can see what may be coming. It will allow Jan and I to consider even further possible homes to live in. We are met with mixed emotions, but are praising God for bringing this opportunity to our attention and asking us to follow.

Boulder Bound?

Would you pray with us? Jan and I are considering a move to Boulder, CO, the 3rd most unchurched city in the U.S. A group from North Platte Berean is planting a church, Emmaus Road, in Boulder, with an emphasis on home group development and weekly services. We have felt led to prayerfully consider this move and will be in CO this week for job interviews and researching places to live in the area. We simply want to obey and follow God's lead. This would obviously be a major event for us, as we have had plans to stay in North Platte until both Jonatha and Aidan graduate high school and just bought our home a year ago. Our desire is to move only if the Lord desires and we are trusting him to continue to speak to us in this matter through his Word, our church family at His Place, and family and friends. Psalm 37:4
